Weather Front

After spending the night at the lake, we were up just before dawn for fishing.  The sky was clear, although clouds at the horizon quickly hid the rising sun.  Within the hour, we could see the blue-gray color of a storm to the southwest, accompanied by distant thunder.  Remarkable clouds moved rapidly across the sky.  I ran back to the house for a camera to record the sights

Our first view of the front as it moved in.  This was taken from the end of the dock, facing SSW.

The Canadian air moved in very quickly, lowering the temperature.

A few raindrops fell, but the storm stayed to the south and west.

The scene changed from minute to minute.

The DHubby mentioned the cloud containing the mother-ship in the movie 'Independence Day.'
And then, within another hour, the front had moved past us and patches of blue sky began to appear.  Awesome!
