'Tis the Season!

I just finished making a batch of Springerle cookies.

I use a recipe from House on the Hill (also a source of baking supplies and molds.)  I found my way there via a blog entitled 'A Geezer's Corner.'  The author of that blog may be un-PC, but he loves to bake and has devoted a lot of time and effort to finding some truly scrumptious cookie recipies.

It takes me 3 days to produce 7 dozen cookies, but for that time the house is scented with anise.  The first cookie is baked to test the best temperature and time....and then halved with the DHubby.  Totally Worth It!!!!

I just found out that, although I put a picture of a Springerle on this blog, I did not include the recipe.....and someone may visit the blog hoping for the directions.  If this is You, please just e-mail me!  www.elaine.walizer@gmail.com

Here's to holiday cooking!

  1. Oh, I love anise. So soothing. I'll email for the recipe soon! My friends at my local pub would love them.
